Michigan's High School Graduation Requirements

English: 4 credits

24 credits to Graduate:

English Language Arts: 4 credits

Mathematics: 4 credits (Same as above)

Science: 3 credits
Same as above with the exception of mandating the additional science credit to be EARTH SCIENCE in Freshman year.

Social Studies: 4 credits
Same as above with the addition of Current Events in Senior Year.

Health and Physical Education: 1 credit (Same as above)

Visual, Performing, Applied Arts: 1 credit

World Language: 2 credits (Begins with the Class of 2016)

Online Learning Experience: (Incorporated into classroom lessons.)

Senior High students are expected to make proper progress towards graduation in order to be promoted with their class: Minimum requirements are as follows:

5 credits for a sophomore status

10 credits for a junior status

15 credits for a senior status

20.5 credits for a second semester senior status
