Welcome to the
L'Anse Jr/Sr High School. Our school consists of
grades 7-12
and has an
enrollment of approximately 350 students. We employ
28 teachers in our building.
Curriculum offered
at L'Anse High School is completive to any school in
the
Upper Peninsula.
In addition to our core academic offerings we also
have available: Art, Physical Education, Band,
Spanish, French, Industrial Arts
(Woods and Metals),
Business Applicatons, Personal Finance, Native
American History
and Government, English electives, and other
technology
and distance
learning classes available through the Copper
Country Intermediate School District. Our school
also offers on-line Odyssey classes and dual
enrollment through local colleges.
The Junior High
curriculum consists of required classes such as
Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and
Computers. The electives offered include Art,
Physical Education, Spanish, Band, Publications,
Michigan History, Teaming and Leadership, Industrial
Education, and Native American History and
Government.
The testing out
option is available to any student entering grades
7-12 for any course offered. Our Student Code of
Conduct will give more information on this concept.
Extra curricular
activities at L'Anse High School include: football,
basketball, hockey, track, volleyball, golf,
cheerleading, cross country, bowling, VICA, SADD,
quiz bowl, youth in government, HOSA, and the school
play.
The L'Anse High
School is known for its positive school climate. The
